Smoke Signals out did themselves putting on the Tyendinga Indigenous Cup, a few weeks back a great event and time with the Cannabis community.
Our journey started on the second day of the cup, a car filled with eager companions waiting for what the weekend and this event was going to bestow on us, with not too high expectations as the day was already a little gloomy. The drizzle had already set in, we piled into our ride for the two hr drive to Belleville from the city, the fear now setting in we are leaving the city yikes!!! Soon the fears would subside with the traffic of the 401 Roaring on both sides of us, familiar makers from past trips soon filled our vision. The rainbow tunnel that you seen so many times on school trips to the Zoo or Science Centre and a must stop attraction of the Big Apple 🍎 were in sight. After a stop at the Big Apple back on the road again we continued entering into true farm country and ever calming beauty. Finally reaching our destination, the sun starting to peak out the day was looking promising. We entered to see two rows of tents set up but with no vendors? Awe they had planned on rain and moved everyone into two big church like tents ⛺️... a great sign they planned ahead for things that might happen. Soon after though the sun reared it’s head and began to dry up the land, and bring life back into the gathering. Vendors started moving back outside to their respected set ups and the day really began to take off again. With over 70 plus vendors and food trucks it was a great sight to see. However that wasn’t the best part of the event it was the over all vibe of the event. Seeing so many vendors all in one place and the community coming out to support it. The weekend was filled with great work shops headlined by activist Denise Pendergast and grand daughter of Bob Marley.
