Another concert fundraiser for our refugee sponsorship efforts. Canadian, Juno Award-nominated Artist Eileen McGann will perform May 23 7PM at L’Arche Toronto (186 Floyd Ave. in East York). Tickets are available online here: https://www.zeffy.com/en-CA/ticketing/concert-eileen-mcgann
There will also be a silent auction on site with items such as: paintings by 3 different artists, à large photograph (from à numbered series), Blue Jays tickets, Stratford tickets, and a two hour music lesson.

The Holy Trinity Refugee Committee is very grateful to William Aide for sharing his musical gifts at last Sunday’s recital, raising funds for refugee sponsorship. He was joined by Publisher Jeffery Donaldson in reading selected poems from Bill's new book ‘To B Minor’ (also the title of the concert). Our sincere thanks to all who came out! We had a great time at yesterday's Toronto Waterfront Marathon 5k yesterday. We were a combination of committee members, people we have sponsored and allies. We are grateful for the financial contributions we received to continue our efforts to privately sponsor refugees. Donations will be accepted through the marathon website until the end of October.

Once again this year, the Holy Trinity Refugee Committee will participate in the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon Charity Challenge. On Saturday, October 18, we will don our Refugees are Welcome t-shirts and walk or run over the 5k course through downtown Toronto. We will be joined by some of the folks we have sponsored in recent years. (You will find their stories on our page.) Please support our ongoing efforts to provide refugees with a safe home in Canada through the refugee sponsorship program. Thank you!

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, members of the Holy Trinity Refugee Committee, some of the people we have sponsored and other friends of our committee were well represented at the church’s Stained Glass Gala fundraiser. We enjoyed a great dinner, listened to music performed by the Echo Choir and by pianist William Aide, and heard Joy Kogawa read her poetry. Our refugee sponsorship efforts are taken under the umbrella of the supportive congregation and it was good to join them in this celebration of the church.

Our Holy Trinity Refugee Committee’s fundraising concert on April 6 - Scenes and Satires - was a big success! Bill Aide played beautifully and there was an excellent turnout.

Bill tells me that he is already planning the program for next year’s concert. We are very grateful for his support of our efforts to sponsor refugees and that of all who came.
