Mentorship is always challenging. Every time I say I won’t do it again, along comes a new talent that reminds me of my younger self in some way and...

10 years ago, this young man came out as a last minute, substitute photographer for Hip Hop Family Day and single-handedly changed the way the festival would be captured and presented to the world. His cameras went on to an immortalize my career as an artist and push every business and brand I’d built. He was the cheat code for much of Czar Records, Soda Clothing Co. and Love, Peace and Hip-Hop’s success.

Larry’s first film is screening this Saturday in Atlanta, Georgia. There’s a lot more that I could say, but what’s most important is I love you. I’m proud of you. And I respect the fact that you had the heart to bet on yourself even when the chips were down. All the while making a way for others to shine and showcase as well. That’s how I know you are one of mine. Chin up, chest out. Wessside Tommy has arrived. on deck.
