“Nature’s Renewal in the City: Rebuilding the Urban wild” is the final webinar in a three-part series relating to the subject of nature and culture. These public discussions have grown out of the recently published book, Accidental Wilderness: The Origins and Ecology of Toronto’s Tommy Thompson Park (UTPress). The book explores the park's evolution from a rubble dump into a biological and cultural refuge over a period of four decades.

The panel will delve into the growing need for urban wild spaces that allow for the public to engage with biodiverse ecosystems that are rich with vegetation and bird/mammal habitats. In an era of massive urbanization there is a growing awareness of the crucial role that these naturalized green spaces play in cities.
