Food Safety: Which thermometer to use for ensuring food is cooked to a safe temperature - Infrared or Probe Thermometer?
👉 A Probe thermometer is a tool with a metal shaft designed to be inserted directly into food or liquid to measure the internal temperature, providing a precise reading of the core reading. ✔️
👉 An Infrared thermometer or a “temperature gun” measures surface temperature without any physical contact and NOT a measurement of the internal temperature.❌ Reference via https://www.foodprotection.org/members/fpt-archive-articles/2019-01-comparing-infrared-and-probe-thermometers-to-measure-the-hot-holding-temperature-of-food-in-/
