Thank you to the Honourable Jennifer McKelvie, MP for Ajax and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure for visiting us at Covenant House Toronto this week. It was our pleasure to show you our programs and services firsthand and talk with you about the importance of preventing youth homelessness and providing young people with the right support at the right time.

At Covenant House, we see what so many young people carry beneath the surface: Resilience, courage, determination, and incredible potential.

More than a safe place to stay for young people in crisis, Covenant House is a place of transformation, offering a full continuum of care that spans prevention, to crisis response, stable housing and support for independent living in the community. It was an honour to welcome you, and we look forward to our continued partnership in support of our community’s next generation. 💙

🏠 A safe place to stay is just the beginning.

Once young people have a stable place to call home, they can focus on what comes next: building confidence, and learning essential life skills, and moving forward with their plans for their future.

🌱 Growth takes time.

This spring, youth planted seeds and seedlings in our rooftop garden. Today, they're harvesting fresh herbs and eagerly waiting for the first tomatoes of the season.

Alongside dedicated volunteers, young people are building confidence, responsibility and practical life skills while learning that growth takes patience, care and consistency.

Just like a garden, every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive. 💚

When young people have a safe and stable place to call home, they can focus on what matters most – school, work, their wellbeing, and building a brighter future.

That's why transitional housing is an important part of the care we provide at Covenant House Toronto. More than housing, it’s a place where young people can develop the life skills and confidence they need to prepare them for independent living.

🎥 In the coming weeks, hear directly from our Transitional Housing team as they share how the program works, why it matters, and how it helps young people take meaningful steps t toward stability and independence.

At Covenant House Toronto, helping young people build the confidence, skills, and connections they need to achieve independence happens in many ways.

🎤 Covey's Got Talent is one of those moments.

Recently, youth took to the stage to showcase their talents in an evening filled with creativity, courage and celebration. Every performance was a reminder of what’s possible when young people are given the opportunity to be seen, heard, and supported.

✨ Here’s a behind-the-scenes look from the evening.

When temperatures rise to dangerous levels, the risks faced by young people experiencing homelessness also increase. Spending long hours outdoors in extreme heat can lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

At Covenant House Toronto, we help youth get out of the heat and into a safe, caring environment where they can rest, recharge and access support.
