Congratulations to Subtle Technologies curatorial alumni Claudia D'Alonzo on their newest project with Aksioma.

Tomorrow we open All of Your Base by IOCOSE curated for by independent researcher Claudia D'Alonzo.

Claudia holds a PhD in Audiovisual Studies and is a professor at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera and Accademia di belle arti G. Carrara Bergamo. She has curated projects with Careof, Digicult, ICA Milan and Subtle Technologies Festival. She has written for Alfabeta2, Digicult, double zero, exibartt and MOTHERBOARD. Her essays are featured in editions of Mimesis International and Amsterdam University Press.

Subtle Technologies is ecstatic to join Vector Festival and InterAccess as a Community Partner for their 2021 program "Network Dependencies", which launches today! 💫

We are beyond proud to co-present the virtual exhibition "Constellation of Oracles", curated by the 2020-2021 Subtle Technologies Curatorial Mentorship Program participant award winners Diasporic Futurisms (Vanessa Godden and Adrienne Matheuszik). Using sci-fi, fantasy, and digital culture to envision alternate realities, artists Alyssa Bistonath, Rah Eleh, Victoria Kamila, and Quentin VerCetty foretell collective futures.

Big congratulations to our former director Jim Ruxton, who is the recipient of the 2021 City of Hamilton Creator Award.

CONGRATULATIONS to 2021 City of Hamilton Creator Award Recipient Jim Ruxton!

Jim Ruxton is an award-winning media artist and electronics engineer. He works and collaborates in film, installation, theatre and dance fusing technology with art, often creating work that is interactive. Recipient of an OAC Chalmers Award, two Dora Mavor Moore Awards and granted LED lighting patents, Jim directed the art and science festival, Subtle Technologies for 17 years.

We're delighted to be a participating organization with Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival's Codes of Contact program. Find details for an info session set to take place this coming Friday, October 30, below.

"As arts and cultural organizations deploy technologies and digital strategies, it is imperative to make those experiences accessible, inclusive and engaging. Through a collaboration-based approach, a network of arts organizations has been working together, learning from each other and supporting each other as they explore the impact of digital technologies on the presentation of artistic and cultural productions."

We are proud to be collaborating with a variety of other organizations, including: Trinity Square Video MUTEK Montréal Cinevolution Media Arts Tamil Archive Project FIVARS Festival of International Virtual & Augmented Reality Stories and OCAD University Centre for Emerging Artists and Designers.
