What I’ve been doing:
I fostered a puppy! I named him “Coola” 🐶
Snowboarding at the skii hill 🏔️
Went cross country skiing 🎿
Hiking the beautiful trails near my house🏡
Mondays are now Mario party Mondays 👾
Celebrated my birthday (Thank you for the surprise😭)
Still trying to be an amazing teacher to these students! 🧑🏾‍🏫

“Every step leaves a footprint no matter how small“ I can confidently say that I have done so much with my life up to this point. I am so thankful for everything God has brought me through! I cannot wait to see what he has next for me!❤️

Lessons I learned:
1. If you want it, go get it, God is waiting on you to move. You only get one life, so might as well live it to the fullest! 🌏

2. Say exactly what you need to say. You can’t control how someone is going to feel, be honest and transparent. If you don’t want to do something don’t do it. 🔦

3. Do what makes sense to you. God gave YOU the dream not them. ☁️

5. BE CONSISTENT! ⏰

6. Reflect often! “You can only connect the dots when you look back” - Steve Jobs

7. Invest in the relationships you want to keep!❤️ Don’t waste your time and energy on things you don’t really want to do. “If it gives you energy do it, if it drains it don’t.”

These last couple months have been all about settling in and adjusting. Being able to see myself change and develop has been a challenge as well as rewarding!

What I’ve been doing:
1. Snowboarding (check the next post for the snowboarding adventure) 🏂
2. Spending time with my close friends in Bella Coola 🫂
3. Found a consistent routine in teaching that helps the kids learn faster 🧑🏽‍🏫
4. Running Bible study 💒 (Every Monday at 9pm EST)
5. Booked my first solo trip! ✈️ (Going to Cuba!)
6. Split fiction is amazing but so is “It takes two”🔥
7. Playing with dogs (I am truly a dog person! 😂)

So many changes happened this year, but I am grateful that God continued to be with me through everything! From being on the news, going on a book tour to moving across the country, this year has truly shown me that the extraordinary memories you get to live are based on the choices you make. If you choose to live the same life you have been living, you will reap the same results. You reap what you sow❤️

PPC: Preparation prevents chaos
You can’t keep “winging it” in life and expect consistent positive results, you need to have a plan. Otherwise you’ll always live in chaos.

What I’ve been doing:
Showing up everyday teaching my grade 4’s 👨🏾‍🏫
Went to the shooting range 🔫
Running game nights with my friends 👾
Playing soccer ⚽️
And just overall figuring out who I am!

Quick life update🏔️: Everyday I feel like I’m learning something new about myself, while also unlearning bad habits I’ve developed over the years. Teaching can really show you WHO you are, and how you need to change!

What I’ve been doing:
1. Figuring out the best way to teach my grade 4’s (don’t be afraid to switch it up) 👨🏼‍🎓
2. Playing darts! Overtime playing competitively is extremely fun! 🎯
3. Playing Soccer! (It really brings out the kid in me) ⚽️
4. Creating new memories with my new friends in the valley! I appreciate everyone who is there for me!
5. Playing Disc golf! Such a fun sport! ⛳️
6. Running online Bible study! (It’s been going for 3 years now!) ⛪️

Lessons learned:
1. “If you know what motivates someone, you can drive them to success”
2. “The best apology is changed behaviour”
3. Give yourself grace. This is your first time being a full time teacher! It’s supposed to feel uncomfortable. It gets better!
4. It’s okay to be misunderstood, not everyone and everything is for you

Quick life update: Bella Coola is truly an experience in itself! The ups and downs are both present but overall this is truly a unique experience!❤️ Grateful I’m able to grow in ways I wouldn’t have if I stayed in the city.🏔️
