This is a sensitive topic
Summer is here and we want to indulge in all the cold summer treats! Don’t let sensitive teeth get in the way. About half of Canadians are affected by sensitive teeth leading to sharp shooting pain and stops them from enjoying cold beverages or sweet or sour snacks.
If you have sensitive teeth, it is highly recommended that you try using a fluoridated toothpaste and toothpaste for sensitive teeth. If that doesn’t work then a visit to the dentist for more investigation would be helpful. The solution can be as simple as using a mouth guard.

Let's get to the root of it
One of everyone’s fear is a... toothache. A common treatment for toothache is a root canal. We have all heard of it and some of us has experienced one before, but most of us tries to avoid it.
A root canal is when a dentist has to remove infected pulp of your tooth (inner nerves and blood vessels). If the infection is not removed it can pass through the roots of your tooth and into surrounding areas infecting other tissues and even your jaw.
The good news is root canals are safe and a successful method to saving a tooth. With current techniques and technologies root canals can be done painlessly and comfortably. Visit our website for more info http://vincenthuangdmd.com/services/root-canal-therapy/

50 shades of white
There is an overwhelming number of teeth whitening products on the market right now. Which ones are the best? How do I avoid sensitivity? How does at home kits compare to chairside dental treatments? There are so many questions!
Here is what you have to know. Over the counter products typically have a lower concentration of carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide than the whitening products from your dentist. So the whitening process will take longer. Using hydrogen peroxide concentrations that are too high for you can lead to sensitivity. Also be aware of products that will be abrasive or corrosive to your enamel, wearing down your teeth.
There are different options from your dentist to meet your needs, such as in chair methods and take home methods. The dentist can also help you pick your favourite shade of white, customize treatment to minimize sensitivity, and review strategies to maintain those pearly whites.
