How I Evaluated My Career Options

As a recent hire at Prospects Plus, I can say that the journey from when I first applied to the Tech Recruiting role at Prospects Plus to landing the position and working here was a long one - but one that I've enjoyed immensely.

So Why Prospects Plus?

In a nutshell, I am an extremely shy person, but I've got a big "Why" and a strong desire to help other people. I pride myself on being a quick and eager learner. I've had many jobs in the past, and many of which I moved on from because the learning stopped and work became a systematic routine.

So then it came - "why" don’t I simply work for a company that is constantly changing and growing? There it is. That's "why" I chose Prospects Plus over other job offers I had at the time for many reasons.

The Industry

I've realized there's a formula to the tech recruiting space. The people are always changing plus the technology is always advancing, which equals never-ending learning. This is what will bring me to and keep me at a company. In addition, I see recruitment not only as a platform for helping other people but a fun way to connect with a growing network. A career where I can make friends and we can succeed together.

Startup

What should be my top priority (and anyone new grads starting out in the workforce) is to learn and grow. Figure out what companies and ideas speak to you. Being in a startup environment, you’re constantly exposed to many functional areas of the business and different or sudden changes in business, ultimately giving you the perfect hands-on entrepreneurial experience.

The Culture

Culture is very important at Prospects Plus. There is a strong open environment for mentorship and learning. Age is only a number at our office, everyone is young at heart and this can be best illustrated by our daily nerf gun war! Typically it’s all versus the big boss because he started it! At the end of the day, it didn’t take long for me to feel like coming home to a second family and work is only part of the fun at Prospects Plus!
