It’s always such a treat when we get to see our mirror clings in action. This spider web design for Wayne and Maggie is part of our recently updated collection on Etsy.

colour • texture • finish
This is my camera roll from the past few weeks - so many gorgeous papers that we get to work with, and this is just a small sample. Every project can be dressed up with a carefully selected texture, weight, and colour of paper that compliments the design and overall aesthetic. We are lucky to have a wide range of paper mills and brands to pick from.

Paper punch for sale!
Nagel Citoborma 490. Ever since we got it, I was convinced it wasn’t working, because the motor wouldn’t run. Joke’s on me because it’s pneumatic and pressure sensitive. We had a functional punch all along 😭
Only had the German manual, so that’s my excuse. Now that there’s an English version of the operating manual, this punch can be yours!!!
It’s 3-phase power, so we can’t take it to the new space. It’ll be great for a commercial production.
Must be gone by this Friday!

Miley the Miehle
Chase bed is 12x18 and was converted for diecutting. We do have all the parts needed to get her inked again, complete with a new set of rollers.
She needs work but has good bones and a running 600V motor.
FREE TO A GOOD HOME.
Must confirm that you’re taking her by January 22nd and remove by January 30th. Can help arrange freight.
Really, really, really don’t want to scrap her.

Meet Lucy, aka Otto
She’s a 10x15 Heidelberg Windmill, black ball platen press. The serial number of 31116E suggests she dates back to 1948.
She’s an amazing press that was my first windmill. Came from General Press in Scarborough, primarily used for diecutting. I did diecutting and ink until she needed some repairs. Everything is now in operating order, parts replaced and press was properly serviced in December 2024.
She has some quirks due to the nature of being an older style model, but I found s that fewer moving parts was actually easier to learn. No impact on functionality and capacity.
I love this press and want it to go to a home where she can still chug along!
$2000CAD or best offer.
Can help arrange freight/moving, but she HAS to be out by January 30th. Please confirm interest by January 22nd, or scrappers will take her away.
Comes with:
- parts manual, operating manual, a copy of Hints for the Pressman published by Heidelberg.
- 4 chases
- ink
- a set of Hi-Speed Quoins and wood furniture
- wrenches and other small tools
- trucks and rollers

New Year, New Me
Or something like that…
It’s been a hard truth to accept but an easy decision to make - we’re moving and scaling back a bit. Our workshop at Davenport Road was a wealth of learning experience, growth, mistakes, and successes. It was our first “grownup kid” home for AKP and something that I will treasure forever.
I could have done more or done things differently. I certainly could have done things better.
Rather than dwell on that, I’m coming away with some incredible lessons and will keep 🗝️ going.
To our customers past and present: thank you for all your support, creativity, and patience.
To our vendors: you’re what makes AKP special.
See you in February!

Meet mystery font #808 Venus Bold Extended
Originally released in 1907 by the Bauer Type Foundry in Germany and distributed in North America by Bauer Alphabets of New York, this is a chunky Sans Serif with Art Nouveau and Secessionist influences that can be seen be seen in the stroke terminals (C,S,5) and unusually high waisted capitals (R,G,E). This one was popular in the early to mid 20th century until unfortunately it fell into a bit of obscurity in the digital age.
No direct digital reproduction of this font exists other than a very close copy called Vonnes released in 2007 by the godfather of type David Berlow.
We have several sizes of this font available for sale, brand new in package when it was cast in Toronto by the Prince and Smith Foundry. Not sure about the date of production, but would say mid-50s to 60s. The curious thing is that so far we’ve found no record that anyone other than Bauer Alphabets of NYC had licensing to reproduce this font. Time for some sleuthing!

Stressy & Depressy — but January is finally over 🥳
Yes “duck pics” is a typo 😉
One day last year or the year before that a client came in to get a seating chart installed on her mirror (yes we do that too💅🏻) and as she was waiting for it to be done she remarked that she thought our business name was Anxiety Press!
So we’ve been calling ourselves that internally basically ever since then.
This card is part of our Anxiety Press series. Send it to a friend when you need support — or to give support. We’re fans of gentle, humorous irreverence, plus we love to support Alissa’s MCR/emo leanings, and sometimes we get a little dark with it.
Oh and h***y Zeus is still available if you’re looking for V Day stuff ♥️🤘
