Join MOCA and artist Laura Henneberry for a hands-on bojagi making workshop inspired by Kimsooja's “Dimensions of a Needle.”
Using colourful cotton, tulle, muslin, and vibrant thread, you'll create your own bojagi (Korean wrapping cloth) before learning how to wrap a meaningful object into a bottari—a traditional Korean fabric bundle used to carry belongings, gifts, and memories.
Bring a sentimental object (no larger than a shoebox) and leave with your own handmade bottari.

On Floor 1, found textiles hang from the ceiling, while bottari bundles made of household sheets and personal garments are planted firmly on the ground, quiet witnesses to the lives that have touched them.
As you move through the space between them, you're invited into Kimsooja's enduring exploration of migration, movement, and what we carry forward as we leave one life behind.

Sara Cwynar transforms our outdoor Lightbox with "Encyclopedia Grid, Women Demonstrating Technology."
Drawing from illustrations accompanying the same encyclopedia entry across different editions and languages, Cwynar traces which images were repeated, changed, or replaced over time. Arranged together, they read as a pre-internet search results page, suggesting that while technologies change, systems of authority, status, and gender continue shaping the knowledge we inherit.

Looking for a different way to reset?
Join MOCA and Mosaic Yoga on Thursday, July 30 for a guided breathwork and meditation experience inspired by Kimsooja's exhibition "Dimensions of a Needle."
Taking place within "Meta Painting" on Floor 3, the session invites you to explore how small gestures can create space for reflection, renewal, and a deeper sense of presence while considering the relationships between body, breath, space, and materiality.
