The party accused suspected political thugs of carrying out the attack, alleging a connection to the Accord Party. However, the allegation has not been independently established, and the circumstances surrounding the killing remain subject to investigation.

The incident comes just days before the August 15 Osun governorship election, raising fresh concerns about political violence and security in the state.

REPORTS: The Nigerian Troops have restored peace following a clash between farmers and herders at D**g Community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to sources the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, along a riverside area of the community.

Troops deployed at the D**g Check Point responded swiftly to the report and mobilised to the scene to prevent the situation from escalating.

Upon arrival, the troops brought the situation under control and facilitated efforts to restore calm in the affected area.

However, a farmer identified as Mr John Ajah sustained injuries during the altercation and was evacuated to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Following the prompt intervention of the troops and engagement with relevant community stakeholders, the dispute was resolved and normalcy restored within D**g Community.

Security personnel have continued to maintain vigilance in the area to prevent further escalation and ensure peaceful coexistence between farming and herding communities.

JUST IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Nigerian Troops have rescued nine kidnapped commuters following an attack by suspected kidnappers along the Ajaokutaโ€“Itobe road in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when the suspected kidnappers attacked commuters travelling along the busy route and abducted an unspecified number of passengers.

Troops deployed at Patrol Base Itobe swiftly mobilised to the scene after receiving information about the incident.

According to a military source, the troops arrived at the location and found a Hiace bus and a Toyota Sienna vehicle abandoned, with their passengers missing.
