Happy Birthday to Kindred Kitchen!

One year ago our new community meal program launched under the leadership of Carolyn Bennett and chef Stephanie Bailey. Thank you! For a year of laughter,
dancing in the kitchen, smiling with our meal guests, and a few thousand fresh, free, beautiful meals served. Your warm, calm, caring hearts make the gym at Roncesvalles United Church a joyful place to be every Sunday for our volunteers and guests, and we look forward to being together every week. Kindred Kitchen is truly "Love that looks like food." Happy Birthday to two amazing women and to every single person who has helped make this such a wonderful year.

May 28th is World Hunger day. Over the past year, over 1 million people in Ontario have turned to food banks, a 25% increase from the previous year, marking the eighth consecutive rise in food insecurity. While food banks provide essential support, many people who rely on these services don’t have access to a kitchen to prepare meals. This is where PARC steps in.

In Parkdale, we serve a minimum of 250 meals daily through our Community Meal Program, addressing food insecurity for the 40% of residents living below the poverty line. We recognize how hunger can lead to stress and anxiety, negatively impacting health, which is why our goal is to provide healthy, enjoyable meals to all.

Our meals are available every day, helping reduce social isolation and foster a sense of community. But we can't do it without you. Your support is crucial to continue feeding those in need. Every meal makes a difference.

Join us on World Hunger day in the fight against hunger—your donation can change lives: https://parc.on.ca/donate/ .
