National Day For Truth and Reconciliation 🧡

September 30 is also known as Orange Shirt Day, which grew out of Phyllis (Jack) Webstad’s story of having her new orange shirt taken from her on her first day of residential school. We encourage everyone to wear orange and take time to learn, reflect, and take part.

The OCAD Student Union’s Campaigns and Action Committee presents the Student Union Townhall!

📍Drop by MCD 200 at 115 McCaul Street from 12:30 - 1:30pm to learn more about the Student Union and what we do, course registration, OSAP, petitions, and other student resources.

The Governing Strike Body is a democratically run coalition of students making decisions about OSAP actions and student striking. It brings together students who want to be involved, organize, and help shape what happens next.

Members will participate in strike assemblies and general meetings and help make decisions about funding, tactics, dates, actions, and more.

This is your opportunity to get involved and have a say in the direction of student organizing at OCAD.

Meet Ashton Reed, your 2026/27 Executive Director of Operations

Ashton Reed, is a third year Printmaking and Publication student, with a diverse educational background that spans art and science.

His dream career path would be Professional Student if such a thing were funded. His love for the art of the study motivates his work in Student Union to create space for peers to find a similar joy in their student experience.

Meet Zahrah Khurram, your 2026/27 Sustainability Representative 👤

Zahrah is majoring in Expiremental Animation at OCAD University. She previously served as an executive for the ECOCAD student group, connecting with the community within and outside OCAD U to engage with the environment, sustainability and student wellness.

Our Manager of Advocacy Services, Dr. Jacqui Spencer, can help you navigate housing concerns, understand your rights, access resources, and connect with legal support when appropriate. Support is completely confidential, student-centred, and free.

Enitan is a third-year international student from Nigeria in the Environmental Design program. She is passionate about supporting and advocating for the diverse communities that make up OCAD University.
