AXIA's competition entry (2023) for the National Museum of Carthage (Tunisia), involving the adaptive reuse of a decommissioned 19th century cathedral and seminary into a new public institution. Within new and reinvented spaces, the rich and layered history of Carthage (Phoenician, Roman, Islamic, and beyond) is on display, as are the foundational ruins of ancient Carthage itself, interpreted through a new and accessible landscape. @axiadesignassociates @esr.designs

Within Toronto's Cabbagetown Heritage Conservation District, AXIA is working with Toronto Seniors Housing to convert a 150-year old Victorian property to eleven Seniors' apartments with an urban courtyard, bringing gentle density to a historic district and providing accessible and dignified housing to those in need.

Within the one-storey podium of Ron Thom's 15 Scadding Ave. housing block (1981), AXIA worked with Toronto Community Housing to create a new Service Hub, part of a more localized Tenant-Staff interaction and offering dignified and accessible spaces for work and meeting.

Last week marked a major milestone for AXIA, with the official inauguration of the Diwan at the Aga Khan Garden Alberta. 5 years in the making, this multipurpose pavilion for the University of Alberta completes the world’s northernmost Islamic garden, combining traditional principles with contemporary design. As Design Architect, AXIA worked alongside Arriz & Co. and Kasian (Architect-of-Record), as well as a stellar team of consultants to deliver a building that complements the experience, scale, and texture of the Garden. AXIA Design welcomes our summer interns, and acknowledges their 2 great schools, and for the next generation of great designers.

Meimei Yang is a 4th year student. Bringing her innate design sense to custom residential and workplace design projects, Meimei is making a real impact!

Chiun Lee is a 4th year student who has stepped up to the task, bringing some serious skills and a great eye to mixed-use and custom housing projects on the boards.

Construction is well underway for our terracing Mount Davis House in Hong Kong, while the interiors are shaping up nicely.
