Standing ovation for Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen in Toronto last night as he joined the Ontario Science Centre to answer some big questions from curious minds.

Asked how to make it as a Canadian Space Agency astronaut, Jeremy Hansen replied you have to be, “thirsty to learn.”

From being fascinated with the airplane pages of his family’s encyclopedia and transforming his treehouse into a rocket ship as a kid, to being one of the first humans to travel around the dark side of the moon on this year’s Artemis II mission, Jeremy is an inspiration to all and the embodiment of what it means to be an explorer today: humble, courageous and inquisitive.

We love you to the Moon and back, Jeremy Hansen! 🌑🚀 Thank you for speaking to and inspiring future astronauts, scientists and inventors about Artemis II and your path to becoming an astronaut. We loved hearing kids ask their questions–from “Were you scared?” to “What are the best school subjects to help you become an astronaut?” and, of course, “How did you feel when the toilet broke?”.

We cannot stop thinking about how wonderful the evening was, and want to send a round of applause to our audience members for asking insightful questions and welcoming Jeremy with a standing ovation. 👏💕

To the Moon and Back: Live with CSA Astronaut Jeremy Hansen could not have happened without the generous support and help of our partners, the Canadian Space Agency and Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres.

A recording of the event will be uploaded to our YouTube channel. Keep an eye out for it or sign up for our eNews 👉 https://bit.ly/4gyHBWp
