Today, our parish family gathered in joyful thanksgiving as we celebrated 50 years of St. Barnabas Parish. Though June 13 is the Feast of St. Anthony of Padua, special liturgical permission allowed us to celebrate this remarkable Golden Jubilee milestone together.
We were honoured to welcome Cardinal Frank Leo, who presided at our Anniversary Mass, joining us in giving thanks for five decades of faith, fellowship, and God’s abundant blessings.
As we reflect on our parish’s journey, we remember with gratitude the many priests, religious, parishioners, volunteers, and families who built this community from the ground up—especially our founding pastor, Fr. John Weber, whose vision and dedication helped establish St. Barnabas as a spiritual home for generations.
Following Mass, parishioners enjoyed a festive picnic with a complimentary barbecue, raffles, fellowship, and fun-filled activities for children, bringing our community together in celebration.
Adding to the joy of the day, we also celebrated the 50th birthday of our beloved pastor, Fr. Hansoo Park. We thank God for his faithful leadership and pray that He continues to bless him abundantly in the years ahead.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of the St. Barnabas story. Together, we give thanks for the past, rejoice in the present, and look forward with hope to the future.

🎉 Happy 50th Anniversary and Feast Day of St. Barnabas!
On June 6, 2026, over 700 parishioners, former pastors, priests, religious, and friends gathered at the Scarborough Convention Centre to celebrate a remarkable milestone—50 years of faith, community, and fellowship at St. Barnabas Parish.
Since its founding in 1976, St. Barnabas has been a spiritual home where countless lives have been touched through the sacraments, ministries, service, and the enduring presence of Christ. This Golden Anniversary Gala was a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, share cherished memories, and give thanks for the generations who have built and sustained our parish community.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our honored guest, Most Rev. Bishop Vincent Nguyen, for joining us in this special celebration. We also thank our former pastors and priests whose faithful leadership helped shape the life of our parish throughout the years.
A special thank you goes to our dedicated staff, volunteers, committee members, and all who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organize and prepare for this unforgettable evening. Your generosity, commitment, and love for St. Barnabas made this celebration possible.
As we reflect on the blessings of the past 50 years, we look forward with hope and gratitude to the next chapter of our parish journey.
🗓️Please join us this Saturday, June 13th at 10:30AM for our anniversary mass celebrated by Cardinal Frank Leo followed by festivities in the parking lot.

Today we celebrate the 21st Anniversary of Priesthood of our pastor, Fr. Hansoo Park.
For the past years at St. Barnabas, Fr. Hansoo has poured his heart into this parish community — bringing people together, welcoming everyone like family, and always encouraging us to grow deeper in our faith. From fundraising and renovation projects to the everyday moments of parish life, his dedication and leadership continue to shape our community in so many ways.
He challenges us when needed, teaches the faith with conviction, and reminds us what it means to truly live as Catholics. At the same time, he walks with people as a friend, mentor, and spiritual father.
Thank you, Fr. Hansoo, for your “yes” to God these past 21 years and for all that you do for our parish family. May the Lord continue to bless you with strength, wisdom, good health, and joy in your priesthood.
Happy 21st Ordination Anniversary, Fr. Hansoo!

A blessing to our parish for many years, Officer Melvin Roxas of the Toronto Police Service joined our Golden Hearts Seniors Group to speak about staying safe and navigating the many scams and theft tactics affecting our community today. We are truly grateful for his faithfulness to St. Barnabas and for taking the time to educate and protect our seniors through this important talk.
Officer Melvin shared many helpful reminders on how scammers often target people through suspicious phone calls, text messages, and emails claiming unpaid bills, banking issues, or urgent payments. Seniors were encouraged never to click unknown links, give out personal information, or respond to messages that create fear or pressure. He also spoke about identity theft and the importance of avoiding carrying debit cards, credit cards, and IDs together inside phone cases, as losing a phone could mean losing everything at once.
He also warned about common distraction thefts, including strangers approaching too closely, offering hugs, or creating confusion in public spaces while secretly attempting to steal wallets, jewelry, or personal belongings. Through real-life examples and practical advice, our seniors learned the importance of staying alert, protecting their valuables, and always taking an extra moment to verify before trusting unfamiliar requests.
Thank you, Officer Melvin, for your dedication to serving both our city and our parish community. Your care, wisdom, and willingness to give back are deeply appreciated by all of us at St. Barnabas.

Today, we joyfully celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of Ordination of Fr. Jeremy!
In these past two years at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Fr. Jeremy has poured himself out wholeheartedly in service to God and His people. Whether through celebrating the Holy Mass, spending countless hours hearing confessions, visiting and supporting parishioners young and old, or simply being present for those in need, his priesthood has been a true reflection of Christ’s love and devotion.
Even during times of physical pain and his knee injury, he continued to serve faithfully with perseverance and humility — a quiet witness to the sacrifice and dedication of the priesthood.
Thank you, Fr. Jeremy, for your “yes” to God, for your compassion, guidance, and tireless service to our parish family. Please know that the people of St. Barnabas continue to keep you in our prayers with gratitude and love. May God bless you abundantly and strengthen you in your vocation for many years to come.
