INDIE WEEK, in partnership with Musiversal and DIT, has been hosting SONGxSONG: The Modern Songwriting Lab — a webinar series connecting artists, songwriters, and producers with hit songwriters and producers.

This week’s session featured Chris Birkett (Sinéad O’Connor, Steve Earle, Def Leppard), who broke down how instrumentation and arrangement shape the emotional impact of a song — along with stories from working with Quincy Jones, Sinéad O’Connor, and Mutt Lange.

Previous sessions have included Ron Fair, Justin Gray, Rosanne Baker Thornley, and Marshall Dane.

To date, 300+ participants from 25 countries have joined the series.
