TONIGHT 💥. My solo show, Gathering Edges, is wrapping up and we are having a Closing Reception at the gallery 5-8pm! Please join us.

This has been an extraordinary experience - to both make the work and then show it . I have so appreciated all of the feedback, words of encouragement and support along the way. Thank you 💗.

“Rock formations and forests, in particular, offer quiet structures that are enduring and resilient—they embody an intelligence beyond our human experience. Painting landscape slows my looking and feeling. It encourages a deep exploration of physical and emotional presence: the landscape’s, and my own.”

The making of a painting…. Initial marks and then, responses to those marks. Over and over. Until, somehow it feels “finished”. Many questions and decisions, but mostly trying to hold a deep trust and stay out of my own way.

Gathering Edges brings together paintings and rug hooked pieces made in response to sustained time spent in the landscape. Forests and rock formations are places where forms, textures and colours lean, overlap and soften rather than resolve.

I am most interested in holding the experience of landscape, of being immersed in it.

Gathering Edges is on view now until 31 January with a closing reception on Thursday 29 January, 5-8pm. Please join us, all are welcome.
