First Capital has won a CoStar Impact Award for Lease of the Year!

The awards recognize outstanding commercial real estate transactions and projects completed in 2023 that have had a significant impact on neighbourhoods or submarkets across 128 major markets in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

The annual CoStar Impact Awards celebrate commercial real estate practitioners who have brought leadership, innovation, and professionalism to their markets by highlighting commendable transactions and projects.

We received this award for the Altea AVANT lease completed at One Bloor East. The lease spans 31,000 square feet, most of which is the upper level of the former Nordstrom Rack that closed in May 2023. This innovative concept in luxury fitness and wellness will anchor the iconic Toronto intersection of Yonge and Bloor.

We are committed to enhancing our neighbourhood portfolio with best-in-class brands and operators, and Altea certainly aligns with this strategy. Congratulations to Eric Sherman and the rest of our Yorkville leasing, operations, and construction teams involved with this transaction.

Nordstrom's Departure Created Prime Leasing Opportunity for Altea's New Avant Concept Lease of the Year for Toronto

In honour of Black History Month, we dedicated our latest Tenant Spotlight to FRAP, a Francophone Settlement Agency based in our Northgate Centre property in Edmonton, Alberta.

FRAP, which stands for Francophonie Albertaine Plurielle, specializes in welcoming Francophone newcomers to Canada, specifically Alberta. The agency’s goal is to help Francophone immigrants feel at home and integrated throughout their journey of settling in Canada. During Black History Month, FRAP organized various events and initiatives across Alberta to highlight the importance of education and awareness of Black History. Currently serving over 300 people/clients and counting, it’s no surprise that FRAP’s work continues to have a positive impact on Francophone families and the local community.
