Returning yesterday on a snowy day to the Faculty of Visual Arts at Western University to speak with 3rd and 4th year students and the MFA cohort in Soheila Esfahani and Kelly Wood’s class was a real pleasure.
Grateful to Alena Robin, Chair of the Department of Visual Arts, for the invitation and warm welcome back to the John Labatt Visual Arts Centre. Thank you as well to Soheila Esfahani for the kind introduction, and to Kelly Wood and Soheila for bringing their students into the conversation about building a career in the arts.

Sneak peek.
New works by Susan Farquhar — intricate compositions created entirely from paper, paint, pastel. Through delicate layering, cutting, and construction, Farquhar transforms this humble material into meditations on nature, growth, and the quiet complexity of organic forms.
More soon.

Monday evening at the Art Gallery of Ontario after the Prints & Drawing Committee meeting and this wall stopped me in my tracks.
That perfect Pepto-pink — bold, playful, and unexpectedly beautiful in the quiet of the museum after hours.

Fantastic sneak peek last night — an engaging evening that opened with remarks by Stephan Jost (Michael and Sonja Koerner Director & CEO), followed by Jim Shedden (Curator, Special Projects & Director, Publishing) and a lively discussion with Piers Hemmingsen and Trudy Medcalf.
Paul McCartney Photographs 1963–64: Eyes of the Storm
Organized by the National Portrait Gallery, London and drawn from Paul McCartney’s personal archive, the exhibition presents more than 250 photographs capturing a pivotal cultural moment.
Offering a rare behind-the-scenes perspective on the meteoric rise of The Beatles, the images reveal McCartney as a thoughtful visual observer — documenting touring life, the energy of the era, and intimate moments with John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.
Historic, personal, and surprisingly tender — a remarkable window into a band that reshaped modern culture. Opens March 24, 2026.
