We are often asked what moisturizers are best for dry skin and our team is always happy to share their favourites.

Currently our favourite moisturizers for dry skin include:
💖 ClearStem Hydraberry Moisture Mask - Dr. Newell ND, our product curator, is loving this moisturizing mask as a rich, thick moisturizer during these winter months. She reports that she has been layering it over top of the Fitglow Beauty Vita Rich Crémé for intense hydration and plumping.
💖 Cosmedix Reboot Overnight Hydration Complex - this hydrating serum can be layered under your favourite moisturizer both morning and evening. It works particularly well with the Cosmedix Emulsion Intense Moisturizer.
💖 Ere Perez Wild Tomato Riche Créme - this moisturizer has a rich buttery texture that sinks into skin for optimal hydration and contains antioxidant-rich tomato seed oil full of lycopene and vitamin C that evens skin-tone, transform dullness and restore your skin's glow.

💧✨ Keep your skin hydrated to kiss acne goodbye! 💋

Did you know that dry skin is like a welcome mat for acne? 😱
Dehydrated skin can lead to clogged pores, trapping bacteria and oil, which equals more breakouts down the road. 😩

But fear not! By quenching your skin's thirst with hydration, you're not only preventing dryness but also reducing the likelihood of future breakouts and congestion.

Say hello to a smoother, clearer complexion and goodbye to those pesky pimples! 💪✨

The 3-product acne routine we wish more people knew about. ⁣

If you’ve been told you need 9 steps and 4 actives to clear your skin - please breathe. You don’t. In fact, over-doing it is one of the fastest ways to make acne worse.⁣

Here’s the truth: a good acne routine is simple, consistent, and barrier-supportive. Here’s what we’d build it with:⁣

1️⃣ Gentle, non-stripping cleanser⁣
The job of your cleanser isn’t to fight acne - it’s to clean your skin without destroying your barrier. Sulphate-free. Non-foaming or low-foam. No “tingling” or “squeaky clean” feel (that’s irritation talking). Dermaviduals Cleansing Milk with DMS or Roccoco Botanicals Ruby Crystal Cleanser are great options.⁣

2️⃣ Targeted active treatment⁣
This is where the work happens. Depending on your skin, that might be salicylic acid (for clogged pores), azelaic acid (for inflammation + pigmentation),androgen-targeting ingredients (for hormonally triggered acne) or a niacinamide serum (for oil regulation + post-acne marks). The key word: targeted. Not everything everywhere all at once. Some of our most recommended are the Neogenesis Salicylic Acid and Roccoco Botanicals Plant Harmonizing Serum.⁣

3️⃣ Barrier-loving moisturizer + SPF⁣
Acne-prone skin still needs moisture. Skipping this step trains your skin to produce more oil. Lightweight, non-comedogenic, and always followed by SPF in the morning. We are loving the CO2 Lift Carboxy Mousse and ColoreScience No Show Mineral Sunscreen.⁣

That’s it. Three products. Three steps. Done with intention.⁣

Tap the link in our bio to shop our Acne & Blemish Prone collection.⁣

Not sure where to start? DM us “ROUTINE” and our team will help you build one based on your skin.⁣

💬 What does your current routine look like? Tell us in 3 emojis 👇 (We’ll guess what’s in it.)⁣

SPF season is here. Let’s decode the label - properly. ☀️⁣

There’s a lot of sunscreen misinformation floating around (some of it parroted by people who really should know better). Let’s get evidence-based. Save this one. 📌⁣

🧴 SPF Number⁣
SPF measures protection against UVB rays (the ones that cause burning). SPF 30 blocks ~97%. SPF 50 blocks ~98%. After 50, the gains are marginal - but reapplication matters far more than chasing a higher number.⁣

🧴 “Broad Spectrum”⁣
Non-negotiable. This means protection against both UVA and UVB. UVA rays don’t burn you, but they drive premature aging, pigmentation, and long-term DNA damage. They also pass through windows. (Yes, even on a rainy Tuesday at your desk.)⁣

🧴 Mineral vs. Chemical - Let’s Bust a Myth⁣
You’ve probably heard that mineral sunscreens “sit on top of the skin and reflect UV like a mirror.” It’s a great marketing line. It’s also not how they actually work.⁣
The truth: both mineral and chemical filters primarily absorb UV radiation and convert it to a small amount of heat. Mineral filters (zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) reflect only a tiny fraction of UV - the vast majority is absorbed, just like chemical filters.⁣
So don’t stress about mineral vs chemical and just choose a sunscreen you like wearing and be consistent!⁣

🧴 What About “Reef-Safe”?⁣
Here’s another one: “reef-safe” is a marketing term, not a regulated or scientifically defined one. Current evidence does not support the claim that sunscreen ingredients meaningfully contribute to coral bleaching - climate change, rising ocean temperatures, and pollution are the established drivers. Choose your sunscreen based on what protects your skin best, not based on a label with no scientific backing.⁣

🧴 Reapplication⁣
Every 2 hours of direct sun. Every time you sweat or swim. One morning application is not protecting you at 3pm. The best sunscreen is the one you’ll actually reapply.⁣

🛍️ Our favourite this season: Colorescience ⁣

💬 What’s a sunscreen “fact” you’ve believed for years? We’ll fact-check the top ones in the comments. 👇⁣

Ingredient school is in session. 📖⁣

Today’s lesson: Niacinamide - the quiet overachiever of your skincare routine.⁣
Pronounced nye-uh-SIN-uh-mide (and yes, we’ve all butchered it). It’s a form of Vitamin B3, and it might be one of the most well-researched, well-tolerated, and downright useful ingredients in modern skincare.⁣

Here’s what it actually does:⁣
🔬 Strengthens your skin barrier - meaning less redness, less reactivity, less of that tight, angry feeling.⁣
🔬 Regulates oil production - making it a quiet hero for acne-prone and combination skin.⁣
🔬 Fades post-acne marks and pigmentation - by interrupting the transfer of melanin to surface skin cells. (Translation: those leftover spots from old breakouts? Niacinamide helps.)⁣
🔬 Calms inflammation - which is the root issue behind most acne, rosacea, and sensitivity.⁣
🔬 Plays well with everything - retinol, vitamin C, exfoliating acids, your moisturizer, your dog. (Okay, maybe not the dog.)⁣

If you’ve been searching for a multitasker that works for nearly every skin type this is the ingredient to learn.⁣

🛍️ We carry niacinamide formulations from some of the most trusted clinical-grade lines including Osmosis MD. Tap the link in our bio to shop, or DM us “NIACINAMIDE” and we’ll help you find the right one for your skin.⁣

✨ Unlock Clear Skin with Mandelic Acid! ✨

Struggling with acne? Mandelic acid might just be your skincare savior! 🌟 Here's why this gentle yet effective exfoliant deserves a spot in your routine:

🍃 Gentle Exfoliation: Mandelic acid, derived from almonds, offers gentle exfoliation by dissolving dead skin cells on the surface, helping to unclog pores and prevent breakouts.

🌿 Anti-Inflammatory Properties: Say goodbye to redness and irritation! Mandelic acid boasts anti-inflammatory properties, making it ideal for calming inflamed acne and soothing sensitive skin.

⚡ Targets Hyperpigmentation: Bid farewell to post-acne marks and dark spots! Mandelic acid helps fade hyperpigmentation, promoting a more even skin tone and a radiant complexion.

🔍 Clears Pores: Mandelic acid's molecular structure allows it to pe*****te deep into pores, where it effectively dissolves excess oil and debris, reducing the likelihood of future breakouts. In addition, mandelic acid has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, helping to ride the pores of acne causing bacteria.

💧 Hydrating: Unlike some other acids, mandelic acid is less drying, making it suitable for acne-prone individuals with sensitive or dry skin.

🔄 Improves Skin Texture: With regular use, mandelic acid promotes smoother, softer skin by stimulating cell turnover and collagen production.

Ready to bid farewell to stubborn acne and embrace a clearer, healthier complexion? Incorporate mandelic acid into your skincare routine and watch your skin transform!
