This property had a newly renovated backyard garage, which created a challenge for designing a swimming pool. We decided to go with a 46’ x 8’ swim lane style pool with a slightly widened portion towards the rear so that the stairs did not take up any of the swim lane. We used the void behind the garage to create a beautiful secluded lounge patio with a fire pit that looks incredible on a summer evening.

A collection of various Earth inc designs showing the importance of leading lines in landscape design. It’s always nice to create a destination or a focal point at the end of a boardwalk or walkway. Something to draw your eye and draw yourself to another destination in the yard.

We created this cozy little patio surrounded by mature European beach trees in a clients backyard. Quite sophisticated, makes you feel like you’re at the Wimbledon of table tennis.

In this project, the client asked for a little secluded reading nook for their kids to use. We built a heavy duty timber framed arbor off the side of the pool cabana in the back corner of the garden, where we could hang a swinging egg chair.

On this wet snowy morning with thought you might want to see a compilation of some of the beautiful swimming pool design designs we’ve done in recent years. After all, spring is just around the corner…..well a couple of corners.

A little update on this project. Brick walls have been completed and coping stones installed. Custom downlighting that is integrated into the brick walls has been installed and is working perfectly to gently illuminate the steps at night. This late in the season planting will likely happen in the spring.

When we are designing a lounge or dining space, overhead structures play an important role. They help to define the space and create a sense of comfort and enclosure. Whether they are open to the sky or have tightly spaced purlins or even a weatherproof glass topping, they all serve an important architectural and sensory function.

One of our favorite little front yard projects of this season is coming along. Rather intricate concrete form work and brick work. Not quite done in time for Halloween so we will have to decorate it with some caution tape. Stay tuned for progress shots.
