The MAC student network is a platform that allows thousands of students of Macedonian descent to connect with one another through social media networks (Facebook, Twitter) and come together through Macedonian student associations at various universities and colleges throughout Canada. Once the students have organized themselves and established their Macedonian student associations, the goal of the
MAC Council to unify all of these groups across Canada. It will be the core organizational group made up of representatives from each student group, forming a governing council which will oversee the direction and activities of every group under it. Together, they will be able to effectively and easily organize all types of social and cultural events such as; pub nights, club nights, boat cruises, charity fundraisers, etc, bringing together the students and community even more. Whether there is one - or one hundred students at a particular university or college, the first step is to have a Macedonian student group registered there in order to make our presence known. Once there is an officially registered group, with the help of MAC, it will be much easier to find Macedonian students at those schools and expand our membership and our network. WHAT ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS? To help bring our younger students together, MAC has initiated a new youth project called MYNET - Macedonian Youth Network. It will allow high school students of Macedonian descent to connect with one-another and set up their own youth events (supported by MAC and United Macedonians) and engage themselves within our community. The experience they will gain organizing events and projects through MYNET, as well as the new friends and colleagues they will meet, will give them the experience and the drive they need as they eventually enter post-secondary schools and connect with other Macedonian students in the MAC groups.
