Last week in Alaska was such an incredible experience and I was fortunate to share it with an awesome group of people. On Day 1, I was thrilled to get some great looks at a few Common Goldeneyes - a species that has always been just out of reach for me. When photographing ducks, I’m always watching for signs of a nice wing flap which is often followed by some preening. This guy only gave me this “half flap” but I liked the side-eye look and wing pose.
