Cadence
Four men. Four microphones. No instruments. This is the formula for Canada’s three-time JUNO Award nominated vocal group!

Hello friends. Just a little update from Cadence. Since we’re no longer performing together (or even living within 1000 kms of each other), we thought it might be nice to share a holiday concert we did back in 2017. Here’s the link: https://youtu.be/e7kdu16mmgI Also, you might be wondering what we’ve all been up to since the band’s final concert so read on…
Ross: It was just over a year ago that Nathalie and myself decided to pack up our lives and move to Costa Rica. We’ve been here for 9 months, and are building a house in an eco-village. There will be 150 families sharing an organic community garden, swimming pool, yoga deck and other common spaces. We are delighted to meet so many interesting people from all over the world as we embark on this amazing new adventure! Meanwhile I’m still teaching music lessons online, performing guitar/piano/voice shows at small local venues, and continue to chip away at recording a solo album which should be released sometime in the next 10 years;) Anyways, feel free to message me at [email protected] if you’re interested in reaching out. Stay well and Happy Holidays!
David:
I began working as Operations Director for SING! The Toronto International Vocal Arts Festival in January of 2021. I also continued on the roster with Prologue Performing Arts (the not-for-profit charitable organization that was responsible for booking Cadence’s school engagements in Ontario) as a solo artist, performing and doing workshops. I moved into the mountains of interior British Columbia in August of 2022. I have continued remotely with both organizations above, and am actively building music connections in my new home. I am still singing Bass with the NYC-based group Duwende. We will be releasing a new album of all original a ca****la music this spring, with much more on the horizon! I will continue to perform solo vocal shows with my RC 505 Loopstation, while also gigging on keyboard in a variety of settings. Next fall, I will be joining the roster with ArtStarts, BC’s Prologue equivalent. I love my new easy access to beautiful nature here in the mountains, and I’ve already been cross country skiing more times than the past 5 years combined! Happy Holidays everyone!
Lucas:
I’m the only one left in Ontario!!! My wife Ali and I did move out of Toronto though to a town called Cobourg in Northumberland County. I’m really missing singing with these guys, especially attending all these holiday concerts happening for the first time in years. Our shows at Beach United definitely became a holiday tradition that I looked forward to every year as the start of the holiday season. In June I started a new job as the Artistic Director of a non-profit community music school out here called Sounds of the Next Generation (SONG) www.songprogram.org. We do free community music programming for students in Cobourg and Port Hope. It’s a big change for me, but I’m really happy to be working to help support music in my new community.
Kurt:
Last year, I moved back to the East Coast of Canada, Nova Scotia, to have some more space and more calm in my life, both for me, my wife, and my kiddos. Plus, it’s closer to my PEI family. I have been taking a musical break for a while. I’ve started a company with a friend of mine, where we’re buying and fixing, buying and holding some residential properties in the area. I have also joined the family business of promotional products, which I’m doing on the side. It’s fun to use a different part of my brain! I picked up an eight-seater boat last year to enjoy all the waterways in Nova Scotia. That’s been a great adventure! On the musical side, I have joined the Halifax Camerata Singers and that’s keeping my singing chops in shape. I’ve continued teaching a few students online. I’ve picked up my trombone again, as well as my guitar, and I recently got a lovely piano that I’m thoroughly enjoying. Also, I have enjoyed spreading cheer around the city this month singing with the East Coast Carolling groups. I’ve been meeting a lot of wonderful people in the music scene here and I look forward to some upcoming musical projects. Sending lots of love your way for this holiday season! Hope y’all enjoy our digital concert.
