Link Music Lab is a Toronto based production and artist management company that specializes in showcasing established Iranian musicians to the international scene by linking them to on par musicians in jazz, rock, blues and electronic music. Their roster include Mohsen Namjoo and Saeid Shanbehzadeh, two of the most notable and popular Iranian musicians with a dedicated fan base, as well as Mahmood Schricker, an up and coming electronic artist who transforms Persian music with the unique sound of electric setar.
پویان رعنایی، نوازنده تنبور، خواننده و مدرس موسیقی، متولد سال ۱۳۶۶ در صحنه، کرمانشاه است. او در خانوادهای اهل موسیقی پرورش یافت و آموزش نوازندگی تنبور و ساخت سازهای تنبور و سهتار را نزد پدرش، استاد یحیی رعنایی، آغاز کرد.
پویان رعنایی در ادامه، نوازندگی تنبک را نزد زندهیاد استاد داریوش زرگری، کمانچه را نزد استاد علیاکبر شکارچی و آواز و ردیفهای آوازی موسیقی ایرانی را نزد استاد افسانه رثایی و استاد مظفر شفیعی فرا گرفت.
Pooyan Ranaei is a tanbur player, vocalist, and music instructor, born in 1987 in Sahneh, Kermanshah, Iran. Raised in a musical family, he began studying the tanbur and the art of crafting tanbur and setar under the guidance of his father, Master Yahya Ranaei.
He later studied tombak with the late Master Dariush Zargari, kamancheh with Master Ali-Akbar Shekarchi, and Persian classical vocal music and radif with Master Afsaneh Rasaei and Master Mozaffar Shafiei.

STRINGS OF IRAN
Join us on October 24 for the final Experimental Link Series concert of the year, bringing together master barbat player Hossein Behroozinia, Mehdi Rostami on setar, Pooyan Ranaei on Kurdish tanbur, and Bamdad Fotouhi on tombak.
The evening unfolds in two parts: first, an intimate improvised dialogue between Behroozinia and Rostami, followed by all four musicians coming together for a collective performance.
Rooted in the Persian radif tradition, Strings of Iran explores the meeting of barbat, setar and Kurdish tanbur through improvisation, with tombak bringing the ensemble together rhythmically.
