I picked up my very first dumbbell (5 pounds) 18 years ago at 28 years old…

I thought health food was trail mix and low fat salad dressing

I thought skinny was the goal

I started with a 4 week “plan” to lose my pregnancy weight

I measured my success by a number on the scale

Now?

I’m picking up 45 pound dumbbells
Squatting 175 pounds

I educated myself on protein consumption and carb-cycling

Fit and Strong are my goals

My 4 week plan, turned into 8, into 16 and into year after year! Thank GOD I started with 4 weeks… it was just what I needed to start and get the motor running

My success is now measured by a plethora of factors including energy, performance, digestion and overall body composition… not the scale 💪❤️

If I could , so can YOU ❤️

I never chose fitness as a career choice…fitness chose me!!!!

🖤 I’m obsessed with helping people FEEL and LOOK their best
🖤 I put everything I have into my coaching, but first make sure I’m “Doing the Do” and showing up for the same things I encourage my clients to do
🖤 I don’t over-complicate things. I use tried and true techniques to deliver real, sustainable RESULTS
🖤I love training both in-person and online
🖤I try to make the process fun and light, but never take for granted that people trust me with their health and I take that very seriously
🖤 One of my best traits is communication and have no problems having “difficult” or crucial conversations in order to produce a positive outcome — especially with my clients
🖤 I have been coaching clients for 17 years now and accidentally turned my passion , own transformation and knowledge/education/skill set into a career 💪
🖤 the older I get (46) the more I honour this lifestyle/career/my body and feel my best ever at this stage in my life

Trust me, I’ve had all of the excuses TO believe that getting fit was impossible for me.

💚 I never worked out or played sports growing up (music geek over here)
💚My parents were not active and never worked out…My environment did not “inspire” fitness or nutrition
💚I had a baby young in life and thought that I didn’t have time to workout
💚I had my second baby late in life I had a C-Section and thought my abs were “ruined” for good..and I was too old to get fit again
💚I’m Italian and LOVE food
💚I’m social and love my cocktails and wine
💚I travel a lot
And the list goes on….

I mean come on… I should have quit before I started with so many things standing in my way. But I didn’t. I knew that if I made one small step and then another in the right direction, I’d at least be better off than I was….
Boy am I glad I took those small steps which led to the next set and the next step….
At 46 years old, all of those excuses to not even try have become my reasons to keep going 💪💪💪

I spend a whole lot of time talking about fitness/nutrition, my kids and about my own struggles/wins… but today I want to honour Gab… my mommy 🥰 she deserves her own post!

Meet Gabriella.

Oh you know her?
Then you know how selfless she is.

Oh you’ve never had the pleasure of meeting her?
Well, I’ll let you know she does everything with a smile…even if she doesn’t feel like it…even behind closed doors. A smile, a “yes”, and a “sorry” if delivered 2 min later than promised.

My mom is the most generous, kind, giving and creative woman I know.
She not only gives of her resources, but her time.

Need a babysitter? Gab will actually cancel her plans so she can be available.

In the mood for pasta? Nonna will have freshly made homemade fettuccini al’uovo next time you show up.

Need a shopping partner? Gab will drop it all and drive you to Toronto, “ohh and ahh” and everything you try on, walk around for hours, and not even enter a store of her own.

Need a school project for your kid? My mom will have made the trip to Michael’s and the dollar store with all the supplies ready to go and the patience to see it through.

Every occasion has their own cookie decorating schedule. Every Sunday an invite for a full family dinner. Every milestone marked with a heartfelt card. Every win, loss, struggle… met with the biggest hug and empathetic words to make you feel that much better.

My mom does everything with her heart and soul, and nothing expected in return.

They just don’t make them like my mom anymore. You may be lucky enough to have one of your own, so I hope you celebrate them today and let them know how much you love and appreciate them…and know you too are one of the lucky ones 🫶💕❤️
