✨ Curious Waterbear Meets Laser Cutter! ✨
This weekend, I joined Anti-Making Making Club #1: Laser Cutting 101 with .school and and learned how to turn a raster image into a vector file for laser cutting. The result? My curious waterbear 🐾, brought to life on birch!
The workshop was a perfect mix of creativity and tech. As a community science educator, I’m always looking for ways to make science hands-on and meaningful. Huge thanks to the facilitators for such an inspiring session! Can’t wait to explore how laser cutting fits into future projects.
Check out my waterbear process!

Remembering December 6, 1989
Today, we honour the 14 women murdered at École Polytechnique in an act of gender-based violence:
Geneviève Bergeron
Hélène Colgan
Nathalie Croteau
Barbara Daigneault
Anne-Marie Edward
Maud Haviernick
Maryse Laganière
Maryse Leclair
Anne-Marie Lemay
Sonia Pelletier
Michèle Richard
Annie St-Arneault
Annie Turcotte
Barbara Klucznik-Widajewicz
These women were pursuing their dreams in engineering, breaking barriers for future generations.
This tragedy reminds us of the ongoing fight against gender-based violence. We commit to building a future of equity, safety, and progress for all.
