Not every shot needs intricate lighting! Sometimes the subject, styling, colors, and branding are enough to make a great image with just the right amount of light. For example, this editorial feature photographed at Wrigley Field for Modern Luxury’s Michigan Avenue Magazine with Ian Happ of the Chicago Cubs was created with a simple bare head light positioned right above the camera. Had a blast photographing Midland at The Winston House in Venice Beach, California! Lead singer Mark Wystrach was rocking the Fender Stratocaster neck on the acoustic body while promoting the band’s tequila brand, Insolito.

Chasing the last rays of sunlight in Joshua Tree National Park to capture the desert magic on my Pentax K1000. There’s something about sunset in the desert that makes it the perfect backdrop for film photography. 🌅 Do you prefer shooting digital or film?

There’s something about a Venice Beach sunset that makes you pause and take it all in. The pastel skies and the towering palm trees set the perfect sunset vibe. This was a perfect moment captured during golden hour. California really knows how to end the day!
