The DJC is once again participating in the Free Summer Lunch To-Go Program along with other Danforth Multifaith Commons' partners. The goal of the program is to provide a nutritious take-away lunch for those who are food insecure in our community. DMC partners take turns making and handing out bagged lunches in front of 310 Danforth every Tuesday from June 2 - Sept. 28. The DJC provides a team to do this once a month. If you are interested in volunteering, please email [email protected].

About the Film:
Filmed over more than two decades, Sabbath Queen traces the life of Amichai Lau-Lavie, the descendant of an unbroken line of 38 Orthodox rabbis. The film chronicles his epic journey from being torn between rejecting and embracing his dynastic lineage to becoming a drag performer, a q***r father, and the founder of Lab/Shul—an experimental, everybody-friendly congregation in New York. The documentary tackles themes of patriarchy, tradition, and radical inclusion in the 21st century.

Adult Group Bet Mitzvah Program
JUNE 2026-NOVEMBER 2027

The Danforth Jewish Circle is delighted to be launching our inaugural Adult Bet Mitzvah cohort! This exciting program is an engaging, interactive journey designed specifically for adult learners ready to explore, reconnect, or go deeper. Together, we’ll build a supportive space where curiosity and questions are welcomed, where learning feels alive and meaningful.

Through a thoughtfully crafted curriculum, learners will develop Jewish practice and identity that feels authentic, inclusive, and truly your own. Along the way, you’ll gain the tools to engage with Jewish texts and traditions with confidence, creativity, and joy.

Just as important, you won’t be doing this alone. This cohort-based experience fosters real connection, creating a circle of peers who are sharing this milestone alongside you, learning together, supporting one another, and growing in community.
