The LGBTQ community is one that I am extremely proud to be part of. Pride Month is one of my favourite times of the year where we get to celebrate the inclusivity of our community. During this time, it is also important to have difficult discussions around things that impact our community.

On January 29, 2019 serial killer Bruce McArthur pled guilty to the murder of 8 members of our community. The pain and suffering he has caused the LGBTQ community and the family and friends of the victims has left a rippling affect on our hearts.

Much has been said about how the Toronto Police handled the investigation and arrest of Bruce McArthur.

It's the mayoral election and I wasn't sure how I was going to vote. So, I asked Mark Saunders to sit down with me and he agreed. I wanted to hear directly from Saunders what he think could have been differently during the investigation. Sharing this with all of you because I think it's worthwhile to hear directly from Saunders. I know some of you will find this video difficult to watch but my hope is -- it brings a sense of understanding and peace to the majority of our community.
