KayGeni is a multidisciplinary creator and storyteller. Her musical style is a melodic combination of Afro-soul and RnB, with Island and folk influence.
Fairly new to the Toronto arts scene, Bahamian born creator/storyteller KayGeni aims to continue building genuine connections with her community through her work. A strong message of self-love and acceptance within her music and artistic expression is fuelled by her own recent life-altering journey of having to undergo an emergency Mastectomy. KayGeni shares her personal experiences through an honest and vulnerable approach to performance, writing and visual arts. She attributes her eclectic style within her work and artistic influences to her Bahamian heritage.

Soaking in the last bits of summer
Hey y’all! Here’s an update for folks who may have been expecting to see me in Sudbury for Afro Fest this weekend. I will unfortunately not be there.
Rather than be sad about this entire situation, I want to spend the weekend doing what I’ve been preparing to do all these months- gather in the sun and share my art with community. Romanticizing my summer 🌺
This vision has slowly been revealing herself to me.
I haven’t been able to paint as much as I would like, but I managed to squeeze some time in to paint this idea out in about 2hrs on a small canvas. I wanna play around with her slowly revealing herself out of the water as the visual story.
For now, this is the first study: Mami of Wata✨
