Dr. John Mighton, will be speaking at researchED St. Louis on September 26. His session, "How to Create Equitable Classrooms Using JUMP Math," will highlight differences in achievement that seem natural in mathematics: by high school, many students have fallen behind. Dr. Mighton will explain how to use evidence-based methods of instruction to help all students realize their potential in math.

On October 21, JUMP Math founder John Mighton will join Sir Nick Gibb former Minister of State for Schools in England, along with Joanna Barbousas, and Anita Archer for a panel on how England reversed its education declines through evidence-based reform. The event will take place at Canadian Mennonite University and is co-hosted by Dyslexia Canada the University of Winnipeg, and La Trobe University's School of Education.

Math scores in Canada just hit their lowest level on record based on the latest PISA scores. On The Current, Matt Galloway spoke with Dr. Anna Stokke about why, drawing on a piece of the CBC documentary on a Manitoba school where a shift to direct instruction doubled grade 12 math scores. Dr. Stokke's research aligns closely with the approach we take at JUMP Math.

PISA 2025 results confirm what educators across Canada have long been telling us: student performance in mathematics is declining. Canadian students posted their lowest scores ever recorded in math and reading, and the gap between top and bottom performers in math has widened over the past three years. Since 2015, the share of students who fall below basic proficiency in math has grown by 12 percentage points.

JUMP Math exists to close that gap. Our evidence-based methodology, grounded in the science of learning, helps every student build genuine mathematical understanding and confidence, not just the students who are already succeeding.
