🌴 80 years in exile. A paradise lost, but a story that refuses to be forgotten.
For eight decades, the people of Bikini Atoll have been displaced from their ancestral homeland, living with little hope of ever returning to the home that was once theirs. Their resilience and history deserve to be heard across the world.
You can help amplify their story and make a difference today:

* 🔁 Share this post to spread awareness and bring their story to a wider audience.

“So we strive to save civilization, and we learn how to wreck it. All the same weekend.” 🤯
In 1946, journalist Raymond Gram Swing dropped this brutal reality check as they were gearing up to test atomic bombs at Bikini Atoll.
Trying to build peace on one side, while prepping for total destruction on the other.
Nearly 80 years later... why does this still feel so familiar? 💭

To wrap up , we spoke with two experts tackling two of the biggest waste challenges today:
✨ Stephanie McLarty walks us through the lifecycle of e-waste and what you can do with your old phones and tech.
✨ Chelsea Rochman talks about what her Trash Team does and cleaning up our plastics in our water systems.

6 days. Zero microplastics. Engineered bacteria. 🤯
“Living plastic” is here, and it might just change the game for single-use waste. But while the lab techs are out here saving the planet, we still have to do our part.

Poll: If this became the standard tomorrow, would you still reduce your single-use plastic usage?

What does online packaging waste actually do to our forests? 📦🌲

The average North American uses 7 trees’ worth of paper products a year. To meet demand, diverse boreal forests are clear-cut and chemically sprayed into single-species “money tree” plantations, which burn up to 840% faster than natural forests.

Today we’re celebrating 81 years of not getting blown up! Yay us!
Seriously, since the very first nuclear test 81 years ago today, humanity has successfully avoided hitting the giant red button. If that’s not a reason to celebrate the bare minimum, we don’t know what is.
And since we’re already celebrating weirdly specific milestones... what weirdly specific thing might you be celebrating today? 👇
(Did you actually fold your laundry? Did you ignore a phone call from an unknown number?) Let’s hear it.
