A final goodbye.

There are women who shape us so profoundly that their influence becomes woven into who we are.

My mother was one of those women.

As I said a final goodbye to her today, I found myself thinking about all the things she gave me that cannot be measured or held: an appreciation for beauty, an eye for detail, a love of making things, and perhaps most importantly, the courage to create.

Creativity is often spoken about as though it is something we discover within ourselves. But I think so much of it is inherited - not necessarily through talent, but through the women who teach us how to see.

They shape our sense of beauty.
They influence what we value.
They show us what is worth preserving.
And, without realizing it, they leave pieces of themselves in everything.

My mother’s influence will live on in my work, in my love of craftsmanship, in the way I notice the small things, and in the many ways I continue to create.

Today, I said my final goodbye to her.

But I know she will continue to be part of everything I make, everything I see, and everything I am.

For the women who shape us, and for the mothers whose creative fingerprints remain long after they are gone. 🤍

Leave it to Florence to keep my head in the clouds for ages. To be fair, Florence was at the tail end of a fabulous trip to the Amalfi coast, and Tuscany, but this city has my heart.

Art, fabulous dining, gelatarias, history, and culture - what's not to love?

One of the biggest design mistakes? Creating a dining room that's only used twice a year.

Your dining room should invite everyday moments, not just holiday dinners.

Whether it's family meals, coffee with a friend, or working from home for an afternoon, beautiful spaces deserve to be lived in.

If this felt personal, my DMs are open.

Grateful doesn't begin to cover it.
Thank you to everyone who came out to talk design, decor, and everything in between.

A visit to a contemporary gallery is never just about looking at art.

It’s about context. Perspective, colour, texture, scale, and sometimes seeing a creative idea you’d never considered before matter too. Most of all it is about the curation and just the right setting for each piece.

As a designer, I’m constantly reminded that inspiration doesn’t have to come from interiors. Sometimes it’s waiting on a gallery wall.

What’s the last piece of art that made you stop and really look?

The prettiest countertop in the showroom can become the biggest mistake in your renovation.

Not because it isn't beautiful, but because it was chosen before the rest of the story was written.

A kitchen isn't designed one decision at a time. It's carefully composed, with every material influencing the next. Cabinetry, countertops, flooring, backsplash, hardware, lighting, paint, plumbing fixtures, and appliances all need to work together.

That's why I gather samples, compare finishes in different lighting, and build the entire material palette before we commit. It's much easier to adjust a sample board than it is to replace a countertop or live with a kitchen that never quite feels right.

The designer touch isn't choosing beautiful materials—it's knowing how to make them belong together.

If you were renovating, which decision would keep you up at night?

The biggest mistake homeowners make with custom cabinetry has nothing to do with colour or style.

It's designing for today instead of the next 10–20 years.

Beautiful cabinetry should reflect how you live, what you need, and how your home will evolve over time. Great design is an investment in everyday living. This beautiful kitchen from

The most luxurious thing you can own isn't a bigger house. It's peace.

"In a world that moves too fast, create a home that encourages you to slow down."

Thoughtful design isn't about filling a space—it's about creating one that restores you.

What would help you slow down when you walk through your front door?

The difference between a "nice kitchen" and a "wow kitchen" is rarely the budget.

It's the details.

Good design is what you see. Great design is everything you don't.

When people admire a beautiful kitchen, they often notice the cabinetry or the countertops. What they don't see are the hundreds of thoughtful decisions behind the scenes from how the wood tones relate to the flooring, how the veining in the stone complements rather than competes, to how the hardware, lighting, and finishes create rhythm and balance throughout the space.

The designer touch isn't about choosing expensive materials. It's about knowing which materials belong together and editing every detail until the room feels effortless.

Because the most beautiful kitchens don't rely on one spectacular feature—they succeed because every element works in harmony.

✨ Which material do you think has the biggest impact on the overall feel of a kitchen?
