Periyasivan temple is the oldest and most important of Canada's Hindu Temples. Its dedicated to the god Load Siva located in the heart of Toronto.
Periyasivan Temple was established by Adiyar Vipulanda. In 1993 he started to publish the "Matham" magazine. In 1995 started the Hindu Tamil religious school and pilgrim services for seniors. In 1999 satsangam school was started at Kennedy and Eglinton. Since there was no Sivan Temple in Scarborough Adiyar started this temple to fulfill the Hindu communities wish.
