As recently featured in the National Post, our Riverdale Reno kitchen — a galley-style layout with custom cabinetry in rift-cut white oak, flat-panel faces, panelled appliances — sits calmly within the open main floor. What catches the eye, though, is the hand-dyed mural by Cara Marie Piazza for Wallpaper Projects, hung above the cabinetry, its “spinach-green swooshes” mingling with purples and browns for what writer Iris Benaroia describes as “a soft, painterly effect.”

We’re thrilled to share that our Riverdale Reno has been featured in this weekend’s National Post — “turning over a new leaf,” as Iris Benaroia writes, with a botanical motif running through this updated Edwardian in Toronto’s Riverdale neighbourhood. The project spanned a full renovation of the main floor and kitchen, a new upstairs bathroom, and a basement transformed into proper living space.

Thank you for the thoughtful feature. Read the full article online.

We're grateful to share some kind words from the homeowners of New Toronto Rebuild, a previously compact bungalow transformed through new additions, lightwells, and open sightlines into a home that feels far more generous than its footprint. It’s a home that draws the outdoors in — and with it, a sense of calm.

Thank you to the homeowners for sharing their experience:

“A complete renovation of our tiny bungalow was a dream that we thought might never come to fruition. As soon as we met Heather and became acquainted with the vision and expertise behind Asquith Architecture, we knew we had found the right people to make our hopes become a reality. Asquith Architecture designed us a home that is unbelievably spacious and filled with natural light. It was a truly miraculous transformation.

There were endless decisions to be made throughout the project, and choosing Asquith was the best decision we made. From navigating approvals to helping us select finishes, Heather and Ashley provided consistent support and expert guidance every step of the way.

We are thrilled to be living in such a magnificent home that is modern, energy efficient, and thoughtfully designed.”

This primary suite is designed as a retreat from the rest of the house, where white walls and a vaulted ceiling give the bedroom an airy, cloud-like quality, opening to a recessed balcony above the trees. The calm continues through to a garden-inspired bathroom — green tile and natural materials — with the two rooms together feeling like a single, uninterrupted exhale.

The brief for our Playter Estates renovation was simple: more light, more colour, and a lot more fun. After all, it needed to work for a family with three young kids and reflect the homeowner’s vibrant sensibility, inspired by her Mexican roots.

To that end, we reimagined the century-old home alongside , with a new addition, enlarged openings, reworked floor plans, and kid-friendly zones throughout — a “fun house,” as Toronto Life called it.

Several publications wrote about it. Here’s a look back through some of their words, and those of the homeowners themselves.
