Tea Creek is a 73-minute documentary that follows Indigenous food sovereignty activist Jacob Beaton, who, in just three years, has transformed his family farm into Tea Creek — an Indigenous Food Sovereignty training centre. The film highlights themes of leadership, social innovation, and community-based entrepreneurship, as Tea Creek works to revive Indigenous agricultural knowledge that historically outperformed colonial farming practices before being erased by colonial systems and residential schools.
Through the growing season, the documentary shows how Tea Creek creates meaningful employment and training pathways for Indigenous youth, while advancing a vision rooted in change, healing, and abundance. It’s very much a story about impact-driven leadership, sustainable systems, and building resilient communities.
