After more than a hundred screenings in 30+ countries, we are delighted to invite you to the French premiere of ‘Restoring Dignity’ in Lyon, at the WHO Academy!
Our documentary follows five noma survivors (Sakina, Amina, Adamu, Mulikat, and Aliyu) as they struggle to rebuild their lives after years of suffering, stigma, and isolation. Their stories reveal the physical and psychological consequences of this neglected tropical disease, but also their extraordinary resilience.
Organized in partnership with the Health for All Film Festival (HAFF) and / Médecins Sans Frontières (), this screening will be followed by a roundtable discussion featuring:
– Mulikat Okanlawon, noma survivor, activist and president of Elysium (), the first association of noma survivors, and one of TIME’s 100 most influential people in health (2024).
– Claire Jeantet, co-director of the documentary and anoma advocacy focal point at MSF.
– Dr. Albis Francesco Gabrielli, WHO expert on malaria and neglected tropical diseases.
Languages: film subtitled in French/English; discussion in French.
