And now to introduce our final reader for tonight! A Morris ~~~~~ Anita was born to a Bengali mother and a Californian father and spent her formative years in Pune, India, before arriving in Toronto via California, France, England, and the American Midwest. In her youth, Anita used to worry about being different. Life in Toronto has helped put matters in perspective. In her work, Anita explores the fault line between cultural expectations and individual aspirations.

Tomorrow is our launch and fundraiser! Our fourth reader of the night will be one of issue 17's features -- Danijela Stojković. Danijela just completed her M.A. in English at the University of Toronto and a sentence she started 7 years ago. Some of her poems have been published by Scrivener, The Veg, and Graphite Publications.

Phoebe is already at wise bar waiting to read us poems! Just kidding - it wouldn’t be that weird though, since our event is very soon, only one day away! Introducing our third reader, Phoebe Wang! Phoebe was involved with Echolocation Magazine as a staff member and Editor-in-Chief from 2010-2012. Her debut collection of poetry, Admission Requirements (McClelland and Stewart, 2017) was nominated for the Trillium Book Award. Recently her work has appeared in REFUSE: Canlit in Ruins (Bookhug, 2018), What the Poets are Doing (Nightwood, 2018) and is forthcoming in They Rise Like A Wave: An Anthology of Asian-American Women Poets (Blue Oak Press, 2020). She works as a Writing and Learning Consultant for ELL students at OCADU and as a mentor in the U of T Creative Writing MA program.

Choo choo! We are happy to introduce our second reader for this weekend: the inimitable André Babyn lives in Toronto. His short fiction has appeared in Maisonneuve, The Fanzine, Grain, and elsewhere. In 2020 his first novel, Evie of the Deepthorn, will be released with Dundurn Press.
