Founded by the late Michael Cavanaugh, the project continues under the leadership of Andrea Rodriguez and Yasaman Mehrsa, expanding its mission of community engagement, artist empowerment, and accessible creativity.

🖌️ Honouring a Legacy, Continuing the Work 🎨
With heavy hearts, we share that Michael Cavanaugh, the visionary behind the Bell Box Murals Project, has passed away.
Michael’s passion for public art and community transformed over 600 utility boxes into vibrant landmarks across Ontario and Quebec. His legacy lives on in every brushstroke, in every artist he empowered, and in every neighbourhood made brighter through this project.
Moving forward, Andrea Rodriguez ( ) will carry on this work alongside Yasaman Mehrsa ( ), committed to continuing Michael’s vision, celebrating creativity, community, and collaboration through public art.
We’re grateful for Michael’s leadership and honoured to build on the foundation he created. 💛
