On June 6, Orchestra Toronto will gather with our community for a performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, a work that speaks powerfully to resilience, hope, and renewal.
This year’s concert falls on the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, a moment of remembrance that carries special meaning for many in our city and beyond. In honour of this occasion, we are grateful to welcome veterans and their families from Sunnybrook’s Veterans Centre to join us as our guests through complimentary tickets.
Music has a unique ability to bring people together across generations and experiences. As Mahler’s extraordinary “Resurrection” Symphony rises from darkness into light, we hope this evening offers space for reflection, connection, and shared humanity.
We look forward to filling the hall not only with music, but with community.

Full testimonial:
For the past few years, it has been our pleasure and privilege to attend a number of Orchestra Toronto’s Sunday concerts. These afternoon performances, presented by a full-sized symphony orchestra, under the inspired leadership of Musical Director Michael Newnham, offer a carefully designed program of a variety of works, prepared and presented with enthusiasm.
Maestro Newnham is not only a gifted musician, but also an exceptional communicator. He generously offers his audience a pre-concert half hour chat adding immeasurably to the understanding and appreciation of what is about to be presented.
These concerts, both intellectually satisfying and musically rewarding, offer a happy respite from the busyness that surrounds us – and we are truly grateful.
Thank you to Dave & Barb for this kind testimonial ❤️.
Don’t miss your last chance to see OT on Saturday, June 6th where we’ll perform Mahler’s monumental Symphony no. 2: “Resurrection”. Get your tickets today!
