These pictures are from the initial sessions for the record in the Fall of 2022 outside studio. The majority of the record was tracked over the course of two days and here, we see the smiling faces of the band beaming immediately after we wrapped. Michael Davidson, Felicity Williams and Dan Pencer were brought in for a few brief overdub sessions following the initial session. Joseph added some of his own touches and we mixed it over the next year. I love what they all brought to the record. What luck to get to make music with such brilliant and beautiful people.
I hope the record is finding you well 🌿 if it moves you, pass it along to a friend.

A miniature Luka at his work desk - the size of a photograph, a small book, a pencil. A ritual dance for the poets? everything starts moving at once: book, art, body, words, textile (krayka). No distinction.
The video doubles as a who's who of Toronto DIY stickers & my current phd reading list.

It's been very rewarding to help realize this installation by Mary Bunch & Dolleen Tisawii’ashii Manning alongside Christina Dovolis & Jorge De Oliveira. My main role was designing the sound world of both portals, including a participatory mossy-midi keyboard of wetland sounds from the Sarnia region.
The installation is showing this weekend at the Aga Khan for World Water Day. Closes end of day Sunday.
Particulate Matter x Midge Swarm is an interactive dual-channel projection responding to the environmental crisis in Sarnia’s Chemical Valley—home to Canada’s worst air quality. The project reflects on the harm caused by petrochemical industries, particularly to the Aamjiwnaang and Walpole Island First Nations. In Particulate Matter, viewers control a digital smog screen with a throttle controller, revealing a surreal industrial landscape, while triggering sirens, local voices, and media clips. Midge Swarm, in contrast, immerses viewers in a vibrant wetland. Spectators can clear the swarm of midges by waving their arms, and perform a wetland soundscape on a midi board. Installed in proximity, this installation asks audiences to dwell in sites of remedy and complicity in the spoils of capitalist extraction.
