What does AI adoption really mean for commercial real estate?
That question was at the centre of our CRE Tech & Insights session, Could We, Would We, Should We? Making Sense of AI in CRE, where industry leaders explored what is possible today, where AI may deliver value, and what organizations should consider before moving too quickly.
Key takeaways from yesterday’s discussion include:
• AI is already being used in CRE – from predictive analytics and lease extraction to energy optimization, workflow automation, and proactive building management.
• The strongest use cases start with a clear business goal. Technology alone is not the strategy.
• Data quality, governance, and trust will determine how effectively organizations can scale AI.
• Human oversight remains critical, especially when decisions affect tenants, clients, operations, or accountability.
• AI will change roles and workflows, making education, communication, and change management essential. It will also create new opportunities.
Thank you to our speakers and moderators for contributing to such a thoughtful and practical discussion. We appreciate you sharing your insights, experience, and perspectives. Special thanks to our session sponsors, GDI Ainsworth and Schneider Electric.
