This Earth Day, we’re reminded that small actions can create big change. 🌎
Redistributing food, reducing waste, and supporting families in our community are all ways we care for the planet and build a sustainable future.
What a way to kick off Saturday morning! ☀️
We’ve been busy on the ground with our delivery and pickup events. Here is the latest update:
🚗 Dispatch: J-S and the team ran the dispatch station, loading up 39 produce boxes for our 5 incredible drivers to deliver straight to families’ homes.
🥕 Scadding Court: Sakshi and Michael hosted our pickup event, serving 90 boxes to registered families and those on our waitlist!
Check out the crew on-site at Scadding Court and this excellent unboxing video—shout out to Michael for the footage! 🌟
We couldn't do this without our volunteers. Happy Saturday, everyone! ☕✨

Happy First Full Day of Spring 🌷!!!!
I want to share some photos from today’s Global Medic food hamper distribution event at Scadding Court. We welcomed 🚐 Driver George from Global Medic, and nine HUT volunteers (Kelly, Sakshi, Michael, Bob, Mary, Kelly, Tadiwa, Gino, and Sid).
❤️ *78 families* ❤️ were registered to pick up
We were fortunate to have additional items to give to the families, such as Knix brand underwear and menstrual products, provided by Scadding Court contacts.
🎶 Great tunes, fun people, and grateful families🎵

Last‑Minute Gift Giving (With Purpose) 🌱
Running out of time doesn’t mean your gift has to feel rushed — or wasteful.
This season, last‑minute gifting can still be thoughtful, meaningful, and aligned with values like sustainability and giving back.
🌍 Choose experiences, not things
A shared meal, a walk, a museum visit, or a promise of time together creates memories without adding clutter or waste.
🎧 Digital & low‑waste gifts
Subscriptions, audiobooks, playlists, online classes, or e‑gift cards support mindful consumption while avoiding packaging altogether.
🍪 Homemade with intention
Baked goods, a home‑cooked meal, or a favorite recipe written out uses what you already have and adds a deeply personal touch.
🛍️ Support ethical & local
If you do buy something, choose small, useful items from local makers, social enterprises, or brands with ethical and sustainable practices.
At its heart, gift‑giving isn’t about spending more — it’s about caring more.
Choosing charity‑focused and sustainable gifts is a simple way to show love for people and the planet.
