Humber College Funeral Services Professional Development - Stay connected and keep learning!

No One Left Behind: Recorded Webinar 12/10/2023

Available until December 31 – 6pm
“No One Left Behind: Bridging the Gap Between the Funeral Industry and the Disability Community”
NO ONE LEFT BEHIND, are powerful words. Their meaning is made all the more powerful with the realization that gaps do exist between the funeral industry and the disability community. At this time there is nothing bridging these two services.
There is currently limited conversation, awareness and education within the funeral industry on the topic of disability.
Disability awareness and education is an essential piece to this equation. In offering such education it narrows the gap, builds confidence within both services and allows for the disability community to not feel LEFT BEHIND.
This seminar was presented by Carrie Batt, founder of Seol Care Disability Sensitivity Grief Supports, along with Anthony Frisina and Matteo Esposito.

Jurisprudence 301: Recorded Webinar 11/17/2023

“Jurisprudence 301: A Refresher to Address Common Compliance Issues as Reported by the BAO”
Following our last jurisprudence CE event in 2020 it was suggested this topic be revisited every now and then to ensure licensees are up to speed with the requirements of the FBCSA. This 2-hour CE session was led by Jeff Caldwell, addressing compliance issues that our regulator reports as prevailing misunderstandings and oversights in day-to-day operations. Protect yourself as a licensee by watching this webinar to you know what is expected when working in Ontario’s funeral sector.

Happy April, All.

Just reaching out to confirm that we WILL be hosting 6 hours of CE in 2023! We’re currently finalizing our 3 2-hour sessions and will start advertising them in the next while.

This year, we’re going to host all sessions starting in September and run 1 per month through the fall when most licensees are starting to think about their CE renewals. They will still be recorded for those who aren’t able to join us live, but we’ve found our live-event attendees are greater in numbers through the fall events.

Our CE will once again be offered at $20/CE credit plus Eventbrite fees and HST, but you can still plan to obtain all 6 credits for under $100.

Stay tuned for the details.
