Discovering artists such as Benny Benassi, Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens, LMFAO, Tiesto and many more. The artists inspired Vymvn to explore FL Studio. Applying his work ethic into music production, he quickly realised how much he loved the technicality that went behind creating entire tracks. He taught himself to DJ, and soon found himself DJing for house parties, small charity events, and later on to several school events. Through achieving so much in so little time, he began to realize the power he had to spread a message to the youth. Through music he saw an opportunity to show youth that they were capable of so much through hard work and perseverance, regardless of what it was they pursue. He was driven. All within the same year since he began, he managed to sign his first track ‘Fire’ under the alias, ‘Hat&Cakes’ on Stush Records. He later went on to place second in the 2015 Toronto edition of the iStandard Producer Showcase, also as one of the youngest producers in the room, leading him and the top 3 winners to attend a 4 day beat camp in Atlanta, Georgia.
2016 came around and Vymvn spent innumerable hours learning and shaping his sound. Setting a goal to sign at least 2 contracts by the end of the year, he managed to exceed his expectations snagging 5 from German based label, Zibiria Records. Still under his former alias, he released his first track with Zibiria Records in the beginning of 2017 called ‘L..I.L.T’. Making several appearances in BeatPort exclusive EDM compilations, and even supported by a local radio station in North Brunswick, United States ‘JR.FM Radio Network’. Shortly after was a follow up on the label with his remix of Denis Dawydow & Simon Aces ‘Orientalia’ released in February. An energetic trap influenced remix that surely surprised his audience. Vymvn followed up with a release in the next month with his track ‘Twilight Zone’ on Hoist Records as a part of their Miami Music Week Sampler. With a constantly emerging style, his sound still remains. He received a strong and positive response from his fanbase through his energetic delivery through his releases. Vymvn then began to play his first club gigs at Tequila Jacks, and had played for university frats in downtown Toronto. As he played for more and more people, the artist inside began to emerge. The adrenaline of controlling the crowd through the music he played was addictive. He was hooked.
