CAD Service in Custom Millwork, Casework, Fabrication and Installation.

12/28/2025

Welcome to Business Interiors — a community focused on the design, documentation, and ex*****on of high-quality commercial and custom interior spaces.

This group was created to bring together:
• Interior designers
• Architects
• Millwork shops
• Builders & contractors
• And professionals involved in custom interiors and fit-outs

Here, we’ll share:
• Insights on custom millwork & interior detailing
• Best practices for shop drawings and construction documentation
• Lessons from real-world projects
• Tips to streamline design-to-fabrication workflows
• Occasional case studies and resources

My background is in architectural drafting with a strong focus on custom millwork, and this group will be a place to exchange knowledge, ask questions, and discuss challenges we all face in delivering well-executed interior projects.

This is not a spam group — quality discussions and practical value only.

To get started, feel free to introduce yourself:
• What do you do?
• What type of interior projects are you involved in?
• What would you like to learn or share here?

Looking forward to building a valuable community together.

Dave

Monroe Towers in Mississauga.

Architectural and Design Elements of Festival Condos in Vaughan:

1. Distinctive Curvilinear Form:
• The towers feature curved horizontal bands of balcony slabs wrapping around the façade.
• This creates a wave-like ripple effect, emphasizing movement and dynamism.
• The fluidity helps soften the high-rise form and gives a sculptural look.
2. Contrasting Materials & Colors:
• The prominent use of white balcony lines contrasted against dark spandrel and glazing gives a bold, graphic appearance.
• This layered look helps break up the visual mass of the tall structures.
3. Podium Design:
• The podium is multi-storey and designed to integrate retail/commercial spaces.
• The curved glass at the street level (seen in your image) aims to create a pedestrian-friendly experience and modern urban aesthetic.
• It likely includes amenity space for residents on top of the retail.
4. Skyline Impact:
• These towers are some of the tallest in the Vaughan area, helping define the new urban skyline of the VMC.
• The height and unique profile make them architectural landmarks in this fast-growing suburb.

Urban Context:
• Located in the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, an area planned as a walkable downtown node.
• It is steps from the VMC subway station (TTC Line 1 extension).
• Close to transit, shopping, and entertainment, the project is part of a vision to create a dense, mixed-use urban hub outside Toronto’s downtown.

Design Inspiration:
• The design is influenced by contemporary urban trends that blend organic forms with high-rise modernism.
• Similarities can be drawn with other IBI Group projects like The Selby in Toronto or some buildings in Mississauga’s M City development, which also emphasize curvilinear forms.
